‘ALCAIDESA MARINA SAILING TEAM,’ RECEIVES THE 40TH MAPFRE COPA DEL REY TROPHY FROM THE HANDS OF KING FELIPE VI

This Saturday August 6 Ses Voltes hosted the delivery of trophies for the 40th Mapfre Copa del Rey. The ceremony, which took place at 9PM following the last day of regattas was presided over by King Felipe VI, who was responsible for delivering the awards to the winners of the nine categories that took part in this new edition of the Mediterranean meeting, among which the monotype ‘Alcaidesa Marina Sailing Team’, winner of the Herbalife J/70 class.
The boat of Germán Panei which had Gustavo Martínez at the helm and a team formed by Imaz, Mikel Pasabant and Flavia Tomiselli, was the fair winner after one week in which it distinguished itself for its consistency throughout the fourteen events that took place, the result of the bravery and right decisions taken among the most competitive fleets of the regatta.
Together with ‘Alcaidesa Marina’, the prize winners of the 40 Mapfre Copa del Rey is completed by the German yachts Hatari, winner of the ClubSwan 50, Red Bandit in BMW ORC 1 and Meerblick Funen BMW ORC 4; the Italians Scugnizza in BMW ORC 3 and G Spot in ClubSwan 36; and the Spanish Nadir in ClubSwan 42, Teatro Soho Caixabank in BMW ORC 2 and Balearia in Mallorca Sotheby’s Women’s Cup.
